Welcome to Bioscan-Clinic. By booking or attending an appointment at our Clinic or using our website, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Services Disclaimer

Bioscan-Clinic is a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) service that provides private phlebotomy services, including venepuncture, blood sample collection, collection of urine, saliva, stool, swabbing and POCT (Rapid Test) screening. The analysis of these samples is carried out by an external Accredited Medical Laboratory under INAB ISO 15189.

2. Appointments & Cancellations

  • Most of cases appointments are required, but depending on the workload you can walk in and we will deal with you as soon as possible.

  • If you cannot attend, please give at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

  • Deposit payment is non refundable, but you can still use it to re-schedule your appointment. 

3. Payment Policy

A non refundable deposit of €20 is required to secure your booking at the time of appointment. Payment can be made by cash, card, online. Prices are subject to change without prior notice, although all pre-booked appointments will remain the price confirmed at booking.

4. Privacy & Data Protection

We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with EU GDPR and Irish data protection law. Full details of how we collect, store, and process your personal and health data can be found in our GDPR section. By attending our Clinic, you consent to the use of your information, including sharing with accredited laboratories for analysis.

5. Third-Party Laboratory Services

Bioscan partners with external Medical Laboratories for sample analysis. These laboratories are ISO 15189 INAB Accredited and comply with regulatory standards. While we ensure proper sample handling and dispatch, we do not assume liability for delays or issues like expired or lost samples during transit caused by the external laboratory.

6. Health & Safety

For your safety and ours:

  • Please follow all health and safety instructions while on Clinic premises.
  • Inform staff of any allergies, medical conditions, or medication use before your blood draw.
  • Infection prevention and control measures are in place according to HSE and HIQA standards.

7. Liability

  • While we strive to provide safe and professional services, Bioscan-Clinic shall not be held responsible for:
  • Any adverse reactions to blood draws (e.g., bruising, dizziness, fainting). However our staff is trained to deal with this issues.

  • Delays or errors by external laboratories.

  • Please note that in some cases, you may be called back more than once for additional sample collection due to the short shelf life of the samples and their potential unsuitability. This will not incur any extra cost for the Customer.
  • Bioscan-Clinic takes no responsibility for expenses incurred to travel to our Clinic.
  • Misuse or misinterpretation of results by third parties or clients.

  • We do not replace medical consultation. If you require medical consultation before and/or after your blood test, it is recommended that you make an appointment with your GP/Doctor/Consultant/Prescriber Nurse/Advanced Nurse Practitioner. If you do not have a GP, you can schedule an appointment on our website in the section: “Book GP Online Services.”

  • Is the Customer’s responsibility to follow up with their Doctor regarding their results.
  • We emphasize that the processing of any biological sample—such as blood, saliva, sputum, tissue, urine, stool, cerebrospinal fluid, pleural fluid, synovial fluid—must not be interpreted as a final or conclusive diagnosis of any illness, injury, or medical condition.
  • All test results should be reviewed and interpreted only by your General Practitioner (GP), Doctor, Consultant, Specialist Doctor, or a Registered and Authorized Healthcare Provider. These professionals are qualified to consider your full medical history, clinical symptoms, and other diagnostic information necessary for an accurate and comprehensive assessment that my involve further tests.
  • We strongly advise that no medical decisions, treatments, or changes to medication or lifestyle be made solely based on the outcome of any test processed by our service unless explicitly advised by your qualified healthcare provider.
  • This policy is in place to protect your health and ensure responsible use of medical testing data.
  • Registered healthcare staff review and authorize test requests in our Clinic.
  • Bioscan-Clinic does not interpret laboratory result reports.
  • Bioscan-Clinic operates as a Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) service provider. This means we work directly with individuals rather than through traditional healthcare systems or third-party intermediaries. Clients can schedule and receive laboratory blood draws and related services without the need for a physician referral or insurance involvement. Our goal is to provide convenient, accessible, and reliable phlebotomy services tailored to the needs of today’s health-conscious consumers.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including logos, text, and images, is the property of Bioscan-Clinic unless otherwise stated. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to update or change these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any revised terms.
